An Important Update on Tagging
How to avoid triggering spam guards with the new tagging protocol
Yesterday, I introduced a possible new tagging protocol for when you need to tag a large group of people for a themed fiction day or something similar. This update is to keep you from ending up in the spam file. Please share this post so that everyone has the information they need to protect their emails.
This is the revised protocol.
Make a dummy post with all the tags for your group. Add to it and subtract as needed. When you’re going to post something to the group, click on the three dots and choose Duplicate to Drafts.
This is the change: treat this post like a Note, meaning you DO NOT include your story in this post. Include a link to your story’s post at the top of the post instead.
MOST URGENT: only publish this post to the web.
After the event, when you no longer need the post, you may delete.
Optionally, assign these posts their own Section and hide them from the main page. They won’t show up in your bio list of posts, either.
Your story is in it’s own post and kept neat, as is your site and your notes, but neatness is not the prime concern here. If you use too many tags in an email it can trigger the spam filter.
Again, your story’s post is emailed separately and without tags.
Everyone planning on using this system needs to know the updated protocol so please share.
I’m Thaddeus Thomas.
Ooh, ok, this makes more sense. Guess it’s time to learn how to do sections…
How do I only post to the Web?
