Bookmotion Promotions and a Free Offer
Important news and updates for existing and potential clients
I’m back. My stepfather’s memorial went very well, as did my visit with my mom. We’ll begin today’s article with a focus on catching up on some business with Bookmotion.
If you’d like to check out the books our author’s have offered in exchange for a newsletter subscription, please check out Bookmotion.pro.

Current Bookmotion Promotions
I made a subscriber delivery yesterday. Please check you Box Files. I’m attempting to automate delivery, but it’s proven to be very tricky.
Make sure that you’re sharing the promotion links I give you. The following page has the top-priority promotions now, and look for more to be shared in the days to come.
You must be subscribed (paid, but I’ve upgraded everyone to paid) to view:
An Important Note
You may drop off additional books and longer blurbs in your Box File.
Don’t expect all books to run at once, but if you have a couple of books you’re willing to give away, I’ll rotate between them. That will attract more subscribers.
Your First 25 Subscribers: Free
This is the same offered unofficially enjoyed by many of our users. They were rotated into empty slots, but I ran out of room shortly after delivering the first batch of subscribers. I gave notice that they’d been rotated out—and they signed up immediately. Uploading a batch of new subscribers is pretty cool, and it’s not something you want to end once it’s begun.
While I’ve been away, I’ve been promoting the new drive, but I know not everyone understands how this works. Let me explain. No, there is too much. Let me sum up.
What you need.
A newsletter:
I’m sending you a CSV of people who have subscribed to your newsletter. You need a newsletter. I have a video on how to upload your CSV here:
An eBook:
This is a giveaway. A reader magnet. You give away your eBook for new subscribers. If your book requires specific formatting, like for poetry or a children’s book, you’ll save it as a PDF. Otherwise, you’re creating an epub file. The easiest way to do that is with Google Docs which lets your download as an epub.
I have Vellum and can occasionally help create an epub if Google docs is messing up the formatting. You may want something slightly different for the version you sell, but I will make an epub version for your giveaway. (I’m not a designer but the program is good. I don’t have time for multiple variations trying to get it just right. This is a favor for the creation of a free book. It doesn’t have to match your vision exactly.)
If you worry about having enough material for a book, look at your newsletter. Pull together short stories, poems, and articles.
For a cover, I recommend Canva. However, you can try Get Covers. I can’t vouch for them, but I understand they only charge $35. If you want to spend more, my cover guy will give you a discount if you say I sent you: Jbaki.com.
Sending Material
When you send me the material, email if you need to send an PDF. The form will require a PDF. It will also limit you to a short blurb. I need to update the form. In the meantime, after you’ve uploaded the cover, the epub, and the blub, it will put everything in a folder at Box.com, and I will share that folder with you. I recommend you drop a larger blurb into the folder. That’s also where I will deliver your subscribers.
Updated Price Structure
This is important for everyone, even if what you pay me doesn’t change, how that payment is applied has. Also, if you’re new, you’ll want to know what I’m charging.
The old price structure required you to both pay for Bookmotion AND subscribe to Literary Salon. Everything in Bookmotion was applied to Bookmotion services and the Subscription was how I personally would get paid. I’ve decided that won’t work. What happens if your don’t subscribe? It wasn’t the simple solution I thought it was.
The new price structure:
Bookmotion: $80 a year
Literary Salon Newsletter Paid Subscriptions: $30-$50 a year
You can do either or both.
With Bookmotion you get the managed Bookfunnel services, listing on Bookmotion site, and inclusion in the upcoming Book Drop newsletters. There is no option that excludes managed Bookfunnel services, and the reason for that is simple. The site and the newsletter need to prove their value. If you previously paid for just those sevices, that’s why I’ve temporarily upgraded you to managed Bookfunnel services, because that’s how you get value for your money. I highly recommend you upgrade to the $80 annual plan if you haven’t already to avoid being rotated off that service.
With the subscription, Bookmotion clients will have access to additional services, like promoting their ARCs through BookSires. Please note that BookSiren will only be available to paid subscribers who are also part of the managed Bookfunnel services. Other services will likely be treated the same.
Early Access: BookSiren
Of course, every rule has its exception. If you have a high quality book coming up for release and would like to use the BookSiren service, I am willingly to apply some of your current Bookmotion fee if you work through me to get their services. It saves you money and it helps me establish a relationship with the company so that we can get a discounted price in the future.
